The second of three X-mas gifts for Kurtis.
As said in a prior journal entry, the pin idea was originally going to be a Shriekbat (Metroid monster) but I decided on this instead for a few reasons.
The silver paint I got is kinda crappy (no surprise since I got it from the Dollar Giant) but it did the job I suppose. It just took some messing with. I dry brushed some silver over the red with excellent results which are for some reason, invisible in these pictures. Trust me, it looks better in person. I wouldn't say it if it weren't true.
The back of it has an earing-like attachment glued on. I think Kurtis is putting it on a guitar bag or something.
If there were no such thing as legal issues, you have no idea how many people would buy that. For like, a million bucks. That thing rocks. What did you use to make it?

I'm almost positive that as long as you say something like "Metroid blah blah blah (c) Nintendo", you can sell any fan art you come up with.
I'm really glad you like it because I was considering making a bunch of different ones and trying my luck on eBay. Don't hold me to it though.

It's just a bit of super sculpey with a pin fixture glued on the back. I'll probably make more of these in the future (different ones though) and they will likely be for sale.

Before I start another one, I've gotta figure out a better way to have it attach to clothing. The pointy part of the pin I used sticks out just far enough to make it a snag-hazard. x_X
I'll add you to my watch so if I do make another one, it'll be yours. Does $5 + shipping sound reasonable? I've never sold any of my sculptures because pricing this stuff isn't exactly easy.

A brand new monthly article which showcases some of deviantART's finest equine artists, as well as recognizing the lesser-known but equally talented ones. Interviews, helpful tutorials and features can all be found here too! I hope you enjoy it.
The idea of this contest is to set you up completely blind with a mythical being - from any world culture - and turn you loose to come up with a deviation based around it!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
